November Inflation Recorded The Highest Level This Year At 0.37 Percent
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that there was a monthly inflation of 0.37 percent in November 2021.
Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said that this figure is the highest level of monthly inflation so far this year.
"Inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group," he said in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, December 1.
According to Margo, several groups of expenses that soared include food and beverages, tobacco, household fuel, household appliances and equipment, health, transportation, recreation, and restaurants.
"Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services groups as well as the education group have not changed," he said.
Margo added that the highest inflation occurred in Sintang at 2.01 percent and the lowest occurred in Bima and Pontianak at 0.02 percent respectively.
"While the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 0.53 percent and the lowest occurred in Tual at 0.16 percent," he added.
With this achievement, the inflation rate for the calendar year (January–November) 2021 is 1.30 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2021 to November 2020) is 1.75 percent.
"The core component in November 2021 experienced inflation of 0.17 percent. The inflation rate for the core component of the calendar year (January–November) 2021 is 1.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate for the core component (November 2021 to November 2020) is 1.44 percent," concluded Margo.
