Barca Need Strikers Who Can Make The Difference In The Last Third Of The Pitch, Xavi Eyeing Werner And Ziyech At Once
JAKARTA - Barcelona are interested in signing two Chelsea players at once, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, in the January transfer window.
According to the daily Diario Sport as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 1, coach Xavi Hernandes wants a forward who can make the difference in the final third of the pitch.
And now, the Spanish League giants are trying to attract two Blues forwards who may leave.
The London club itself is open to releasing Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech as long as the price is right.
Negotiations between the two clubs regarding the transfer of the two players took place last October. Even if you can't get both, Ziyech is considered enough by Barcelona.
Both Werner and Ziyech were tempted to leave Chelsea in order to get more playing time.
Werner (25) joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020 after impressing with the Bundesliga club. But since moving to England, Werner's star has dimmed.
The same situation happened to Ziyech who was brought in from Ajax Amsterdam. In fact, he and a number of other players, such as Frenkie de Jong, performed brilliantly so that they were targeted by European clubs, including Chelsea.
