JCI Closed Tuesday, Gaining 0.63 Percent To 5,190.16 Levels

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed higher on trading Tuesday, August 11. JCI closed up 0.63 percent or 32.33 points to 5,190.16.

In closing the trade, 242 stocks rose, 207 shares fell, and 139 shares were stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 11.71 billion shares and transacted at Rp9.03 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gusta Utama said, the strengthening of the JCI was driven by hopes of a recovery from the global economy.

"In addition, the development of vaccine trials that are growing rapidly is also a driving force for strengthening the JCI today," Nafan explained to VOI.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Indomobil Sukses International Tbk (IMAS) which rose 24.78 percent to IDR705, PT Medco Energi International Tbk (MEDC) which rose 14.84 percent to IDR565, and PT BFI Finance Tbk, which strengthened 12.58 percent to Rp358.

Meanwhile, stocks in the top losers include PT Era Mandiri Cemerlang Tbk (IKAN) which fell 6.98 percent to Rp600, PT Bima Sakti Pertiwi Tbk (PAMG) which fell 5.95 percent to Rp79, and PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk (INKP) fell 3.36 percent to IDR 9,350.
