Fraudsters Jump From Flyovers After Being Caught Embezzling His Friend's Motorbike On Facebook
JAKARTA - A man with the initials M (31) was battered after being beaten by a mob under the Tubagus Angke Flyover, Tambora District, West Jakarta. The resident of Tegal Alur, Kalideres District, was judged by the masses after being shouted at by thieves.
Tambora police chief Kompol Faruk Razi said the victim did not steal but embezzled the victim's motorbike, a Honda Scoopy.
"The victim with the initials R (28) had his vehicle embezzled or tricked by the perpetrators," said the Sector Police Chief when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, December 1.
After embezzling the victim's motorbike, the perpetrators marketed it on social media Facebook at a price of Rp. 5,500,000. However, the perpetrator's post was seen by the victim. Then, Faruk continued, this provoked the perpetrators through their friends to pretend they wanted to buy by cash on delivery (COD).
Finally, the friend of the victim and the perpetrator made an appointment to meet in the Tegal Alur area, Kalideres District, West Jakarta.
"Once there, the victim's friends, the victim and the perpetrator were brought together or imprisoned, finally the perpetrator was brought to the victim's house to settle amicably," he said.
The victim was finally brought by the victim to his house, but when he reached the Tubagus Angke flyover, the perpetrator jumped. Finally, the perpetrator suffered a broken leg and arm and was beaten by local residents.
"Furthermore, it was handed over to the Polsek, the victim had reported this incident to the Polsek last night," he said.
Now the perpetrator is at the Tambora Police Headquarters for legal processing.
"The perpetrators are subject to multiple articles, namely Article 372 of the Criminal Code on embezzlement and Article 378 of the Criminal Code on fraud. The threat is four years in prison," he said.
