Long Silence, Celine Evangelista Raises Voice About Same-sex Marriage
JAKARTA - Artist Celine Evangelista had shocked the public with the news of same-sex marriage. The mother, Vincentia Nurul, also said the same thing when asked about her child's divorce from Stefan William.
When she became a guest on Denny Sumargo's YouTube channel, Celine also spoke up about this news.
"Who said that, take me, right?" Celine asked back.
"I don't want to say the name, but isn't it hard for you?" asked Denny again.
Celine admitted that she had heard the news for a long time but the rumors resurfaced after news of her divorce broke out in the public.
"That's news for a very long time. When Stefan and I were about to get married. So my mother released the news. Then the news disappeared, now I'm divorced, it's news again," replied Celine.
Celine was reluctant to respond to the news especially when her mother spoke. He felt no need to go against what his mother was doing.
"Because she is the mother who gave birth to me. I love her. I just want to be quiet and pray that all the best for her. I wish her health, a long life and a happy life," he said.
Celine explained that her mother should be careful in speaking to the public. "'Why don't you think about it, Mom, I'm working for my younger siblings, for her grandchildren. Why do you really want me to be ugly in people's eyes? It feels like that," he said.
Unable to do much, Celine only clings to praying to God as a guide in dealing with these rumors.
