Civil Servants In Batam City Are Strictly Prohibited From Taking Leave December 15-10 January, Still Stubborn Ready To Be Sanctioned
BATAM - The Batam City Government in the Riau Islands prohibits civil servants (PNS) in their environment from taking leave from December 15, 2021 to January 10, 2022. This is an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the Christmas and New Year holiday seasons.
"The mayor conveyed that he would not give leave permission from December 15, 2021 to January 10, 2022. This is the Mayor's policy," said Batam City Secretary Jefridin Hamid in Batam, Antara, Tuesday, November 30.
The Batam City Government's policy is relatively longer than that stipulated by the government in the Circular of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform No.26 of 2021, which prohibits ASN or civil servants from taking leave and traveling outside the city on December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.
If there are civil servants who violate it will be given sanctions according to PP no. 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline.
Regarding the tightening of restrictions on community activities during the Christmas and New Year holidays, he said the Batam City Government was still waiting for the latest instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs. For now, PPKM level two is still valid until December 6, 2021.
"Until now, our rules are in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs. We are following the existing rules," he said.
In the same place, Head of the Batam City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency Hasnah said, according to Circular No. 26 of 2021 which applies throughout Indonesia, ONS are prohibited from traveling and taking leave during Christmas and New Year, starting December 24, 2021 until 2 January 2022.
"The policy in Batam has started from December 15, 2021 to January 10, 2022. Employees found in violation will be subject to sanctions in accordance with PP 94 of 2021, such as verbal warnings, written warnings," he added.
Even so, he said there were exceptions to the policy. If an employee is given an official assignment that requires him to go out of town, then he is given permission to go on an official trip. Employees who are sick and need to be out of town are also given an exception to the policy.
