Bareskrim Reveals Cases Of Sexual Harassment In The Free Fire Game Mode, The Victims Are Dozens Of Children From Several Regions
JAKARTA - The team from the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri, has uncovered cases of child sexual crimes. The mode used by the perpetrator is through the Free Fire online game.
"(Disclosure) Sexual crimes against children by using online games," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Tuesday, November 30.
In this case, the police arrested the suspect with the initials S (21). The suspect had abused dozens of minors.
Of the dozens of victims, all of them were girls with an average age of 9 to 11 years. They are domiciled from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, to Papua.
"However, out of the 11 children, four (identified) and seven are still being traced as victims," said Ramadhan.
From the results of the examination, in carrying out the action the suspect forced the victim to make and send videos containing pornographic elements. The suspect, called the police, did not hesitate to threaten to delete the victim's account.
"With the method, persuading the victims as well as persuading them to make pornographic video content," said Ramadhan.
"Threatening if you do not want to provide the video, then the account is threatened to be deleted," he continued.
In this case, suspect S is suspected with multiple articles, namely, Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76 E of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection into law with a minimum penalty of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years, a fine of IDR 5 billion.
Then, Article 29 in conjunction with Article 4 paragraph (1); and/or Article 37 of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography, with a maximum sentence of 12 years or a fine of Rp. 250 million at most Rp. 6 billion. As well as Article 45 paragraph (1) 3o Article 27 paragraph (1) of Law Number 9 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), with a maximum penalty of 1 year and or a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion.
