Using Hypnosis, Residents In Buleleng Drain Millions Of Rupiah From Their Victims
BULELENG - The Singaraja Police Team, Buleleng, Bali arrested a hypnotist named Ketut Samiada (55). He hypnotized the victim Putu Eka Kariasa and earned millions of rupiah.
Singaraja Police Chief Kompol Dewa Ketut Darma Ariawan said the victim was deceived by the perpetrators who promised to recover from their illness by participating in activities at the hermitage. The perpetrator asked for conditions to hand over cash.
"Because the victim wanted to recover, the victim complied with the perpetrator's request by handing over Rp1,750,000 in cash as requested. The next day, Rp700,000 in cash was used to buy a place of worship," said Commissioner Ariawan, Tuesday, November 30.
However, on Saturday, November 27, the victim realized he had been deceived and reported it to the Singaraja Police. The police investigated the report by asking for statements from victims and witnesses.
On the same day, the police arrested the perpetrator in Pemaron Village, Buleleeng.
"From the results of the request for information, the perpetrator not only did what he did to the victim Putu Eka Kariasa, it turned out that he also did the same thing in the Panji Village area and also in the Pedawa Village area, (in Buleleng)," he added.
Meanwhile, from the victim, Putu Eka Kariasa, the perpetrator managed to get Rp2,450,000, some of which was used for his own needs.
Meanwhile, from victim I Wayan Parmi (52) the perpetrator managed to get Rp10 million. Meanwhile, from the victim, Putu Gede Artin (21), the perpetrator managed to get Rp. 2 million.
From the examination, the money obtained was used by the perpetrators to buy gold to electronic devices including televisions.
"And from the statement of the perpetrator in 2019 he was sentenced in court to one year in the case of embezzlement of cloves, he is a recidivist," he said.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and or 372 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
