Erick Thohir's Openings: It's Not Easy To Unify The Vision Of BUMN, The Core Business Is Different
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admits that it is not easy to unite state-owned companies under one umbrella vision. This is because state-owned companies have a roadmap to their respective core businesses.
However, continued Erick, efforts to map and consolidate the company within the framework of the same vision continue to be carried out by the Ministry of BUMN as a shareholder.
"The work program, when we try to consolidate that all SOEs have the same vision, is not easy. Because we know that each SOE is according to the map, some are very corporate and some are very public service," he said, in Jakarta, Monday, November 29.
Therefore, Erick also reminded that the formulation of the company's vision and mission must be based on the transformation of the Ministry of SOEs. At least five main programs that must be realized by SOEs within the next 2 years.
The five programs in question are the digitalization transformation carried out by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT Telkomsel Tbk. One of them is the launch of 5G Mining which is the result of a collaboration between PT Freeport Indonesia and Telkom.
Second, the transformation of new and renewable energy (EBT) which is being discussed by PT PLN (Persero). In this sector, PLN will work on the construction of a new renewable energy (EBT) power plant with a capacity of 20.09 gigawatts (GW) in 2025.
"Third, the transformation in the mining sector carried out by the Holding of Mining SOEs. Fourth, the tourism industry which is the focus of PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) as the umbrella of the Tourism Holding and its Supporters," he said.
Lastly is the transformation in the food sector. According to Erick, Indonesia as an agricultural country should become the world's ecosystem or food barn. However, the current condition shows that Indonesia often imports food.
According to him, this only makes industrial workers, farmers, breeders, and plantations the objects of development. In fact, these groups should be subjects in the food supply chain. He also expressed his frustration as a person who lives in an agricultural country but imports of food continue.
