The Condition Of Brothers And Sisters In The Field Of Rape Victims Of Grandpa, Uncle And Neighbors Begins To Improve

PADANG - The Social Service of Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) said the condition of the younger sisters who were victims of rape was slowly getting better.

"From the observations we have made of the victims, their condition is starting to improve, and they are also cheerful," said Padang Social Service Head Afriadi, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 29.

Afriadi said the Social Service would accompany the two victims, aged 9 and 5 years, until they both fully recovered.

Currently, both of them are still under medical supervision for handling medical aspects and trauma recovery, while from the aspect of coaching will be carried out by the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (DP3A2KB) Padang.

"The Social Service is facilitating the handling carried out by the relevant agencies, including the legal aspects that are now being carried out by the Padang Police," he explained.

According to him, every legal process carried out by the police accompanied the two victims, from asking for information to making official reports.

Afriadi emphasized that the Padang City Government would make every effort to restore the victim's condition, considering that the future of the two children was still long.

Previously, the sisters were victims of cases of alleged rape and obscenity committed by seven perpetrators.

The sad thing is that the perpetrators are the closest people who should protect the victim, namely the biological grandfather, uncle, cousin, and neighbors.

Five perpetrators have been arrested by the police, namely DJ called Udin (70), the uncle RO called Rian (23), cousin ADA (16), they have been named suspects and are undergoing legal proceedings.

The suspect was charged with Article 82 paragraph (1) Juncto (Jo), Article 76E, Jo Article 81 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2), Jo Article 76D of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 01 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002, concerning Child Protection into Law.

While the other two are siblings and cousins of the victim, diversion is applied to them because they are still under 12 years old.

Diversion is the transfer of the settlement of children's cases from the criminal justice process to a process outside of criminal justice.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police, Kompol Rico Fernanda, said that investigators are currently doing the filing of the DJ and RO.

Meanwhile, the ADA file (16) with the status of a Child in Conflict with the Law (ABH) has been completed and has been submitted to the Padang District Attorney.
