Manchester United Officially Appoints Ralf Rangnick As Interim Coach, Contract Until June 2022

JAKARTA - Manchester United have officially appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim coach to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was sacked last week.

The German will serve as interim coach at Old Trafford until June 2022.

Once his contract is complete, Rangnick will serve as a consultant to the club for two years.

This was announced by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano through his social media accounts a while ago.

"It's official. Ralf Rangnick has been appointed as the new manager of Manchester United," Romano tweeted.

"After this period, Ralf and the club have agreed that he will continue in a consultant role for the next two years," a club statement said.

Rangnick has coached Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. Prior to his official move to Old Trafford, the German's last position was head of sport and development for Lokomotiv Moscow.
