Pioli Calls Milan's Defeat To Sassuolo Because The Players Were Careless And Made A Lot Of Mistakes
JAKARTA - Stefano Pioli did not deny the mistakes made by his team when entertaining Sassuolo at the San Siro Stadium. The AC Milan coach said the bitter results were obtained because his team was careless and made too many mistakes.
Week 14 of the Italian Serie A 2021 requires AC Milan to host the match against Sassuolo. Unfortunately, despite appearing at home, the Rosonerri were humiliated by the visitors.
In the match that took place on Sunday, November 28, AC Milan actually lost 1-3 to Sassuolo.
Responding to the defeat suffered by AC Milan, Pioli did not deny that his team made many mistakes and wasted many opportunities.
"We weren't sharp enough, because we made too many mistakes. We had so many opportunities that we didn't take advantage of because of the wrong choices," said Stefano Pioli, quoted by VOI from the club's official website.
In that home game, AC Milan actually had the lead first. Unfortunately, Alessio Romagnoli's opener only lasted three minutes before Sassuolo equalized through Gianluca Scamacca.
After the position is equal, Milan still has a chance to steal the advantage. But it couldn't be put to good use, they actually left two balls behind until the match ended 1-3.
"When we took the lead, we didn't last more than three minutes, and those were important moments in the game. Obviously, something is not working," Pioli added.
Losing at home to make Milan still collect 32 points. They are now three points behind leaders Napoli who beat Lazio 4-0.
