Build A Dam In Bali Using Sharia Financing Of Rp319 Billion, Deputy Minister Of Finance Suahasil: I Trust Optimal Utilization
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara made a working visit (kunker) related to the inspection of the construction of the Tukad Mati Hilir flood control dam project in Bali in the middle of this week.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister of Finance explained that this project was financed through sharia-based State Securities (SBSN) worth a total of Rp319 billion.
"I appreciate that this has been successfully completed and has shown many benefits," he said in an official statement as quoted on Sunday, November 28.
According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, the construction of this flood control dam infrastructure is one concrete example of the sukuk project in Bali implemented by the Directorate General of Natural Resources, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
It is said that the infrastructure facilities are supported through state sukuk on a multi-year contract, namely from 2017 to 2019.
Meanwhile, this project is part of the river structuring and normalization program for flood control in Badung Regency and Denpasar City, including the Kuta, Seminyak and Legian areas which are centers of international tourism activities.
In addition to flood management, this project is intended to increase the area's economic benefits, support tourism activities, and conserve coastal reserves.
"That's why I entrust it for the future friends of the hall, for this maintenance and optimal utilization. Then I also ask my friends from the Ministry of PUPR to continue their ideas to build so that they can provide more benefits to the community. We will build according to our capabilities and the state's financial capacity," concluded the Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil.
