Gibran: Social Assistance Is No Longer Focused On Handling COVID-19

SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that a number of social assistance that entered the city of Solo were no longer focused on handling COVID-19, following the easing of the case.

"Aid does not focus on COVID-19, but also for natural disasters," he said, after receiving social assistance from a foundation in Solo, Central Java, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 26.

Gibran said that entering the rainy season this time, the Surakarta City Government began to mitigate disaster-prone points, including floods and landslides.

In addition, according to him, puddles are also prone to occur, from the city center to the outskirts of Solo.

"The assistance this time is in the form of floor cleaning for residents who are affected by flooding," said Gibran.

Regarding the possibility of the inclusion of social assistance for the community from other parties, he said, it was entirely left to the party providing it.

"If the aid that has gone to Solo has run out, the basic needs are almost gone. Please, if that's the case I don't force it," he said, when he received the assistance from the Wings Peduli Foundation.

Meanwhile, General Affairs PT Wings Surya Oucky Hertanto said that his party distributed 1,000 packages of Supersol cleaning fluid.

"It has been received by the mayor. Furthermore, the aid was immediately taken to the warehouse of the BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency). This cleaning liquid is also used for disinfectants, it is a corrosive liquid so it is cleaner and more hygienic," he said.
