Office Specialist Robbery Group Arrested By Central Java Police Team

SEMARANG - The Central Java Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate team arrested five members of a gang of robbers who specialize in targeting offices in which money is stored in a safe.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Juhandhani, said that this group had at least been active in four different locations in the province.

"They have been acting in Semarang, Batang, Wonogiri, and Kendal regencies since March 2020 until now," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 26.

Some of the offices targeted by the perpetrators include the office of PT CJ Cheiljedang Suroda in Batang Regency, PT Green Fashion Indonesia in Semarang Regency, PT Nesia Pan Pacific Clothing in Wonogiri Regency, and the PTPN IX Kebun Merbuh office in Kendal Regency.

The perpetrators were arrested by a team led directly by the Head of Sub-Directorate of Jatanras Ditkrimum Polda Central Java AKBP Agus Puryadi in several different places.

From the examination, continued Juhandhani, the suspects have different roles.

"There is a role as the driver of the car that transports the perpetrators, there is also a role as the executor of the safe unloading," continued Kombes Juhandhani.

This gang, according to him, only needed about 1.5 hours to take action to dismantle the safe that had become its target.

From the four locations, he continued, the total stolen money reached IDR 1.2 billion.

Currently, the police are still hunting for five other members of this gang who are still on the run. For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Palas 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft.
