Lazio Win Three Goals Without Counterattack Over Lokomotiv Moscow
JAKARTA - Lazio successfully beat Lokomotiv Moscow's three goals without reply in the Europa League Group E match at Lokomotiv Stadium on Friday morning. Ciro Immobile twice listed his name on the scoreboard in that match, while Pedro scored another goal.
The victory leaves Lazio in second place in Group E with eight points, three points behind Galatasaray who occupy the top of the standings. Lokomotiv, meanwhile, remains bottom of the group after picking up just two points from five matches.
Citing Antara, Lazio will meet Galatasaray in the last group match to fight for the top of the standings for a ticket to qualify for the last 16.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Francesco Acerbi headed in a Luis Aleberto corner, but his effort was too weak for the ball to be easily saved by goalkeeper Daniil Khudyakov.
Lokomotiv tried to retaliate in the 23rd minute with Konstantin Maradishvili's long-range shot, but still couldn't find the target.
Towards the end of the first half, Lazio had another chance through Felipe Anderson's kick after receiving the ball from Lucas Leiva. However, this opportunity has not been fruitful because Khudyakov can stop it.
The first half ended with a score of glasses.
In the 53rd minute, Lazio had a golden opportunity to open the scoring after being awarded a penalty. The referee pointed to the spot after Alesandr Silyanov violated Mattia Zaccagni.
Immobile stepped up as executor and successfully carried out his duties and brought Lazio 1-0 up.
Lazio was awarded a penalty again in the 63rd minute. This time the kick was awarded after Immobile was brought down by Dmitri Barinov.
Immobile struck again with a fine penalty to beat Khudyakov to double the visitors' lead.
In the 87th minute, Lazio scored their third goal. Utilizing a wild ball from a corner kick, Pedro kicked off hard from outside the penalty box which broke into Lokomotiv's goal.
There were no additional goals until the game ended and Lazio successfully brought home the three points.
