Kopaja Management Reported To Polda Metro Jaya Regarding Alleged Embezzlement Of Funds
JAKARTA - The management of the Jakarta Transport Cooperative (Kopaja) was reported to Polda Metro Jaya by 73 members for alleged embezzlement of funds totaling Rp. 5.6 billion.
This report was confirmed by the Head of the Sub-Directorate (Kasubdit) of Assets and Objects (Harda) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police AKBP Petrus Silalahi. He said they were still investigating the case.
"The report is dated October 18, 2021, about 10 people have been investigated, including the reporter," said Petrus, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 25.
The police plan to summon the reported party for questioning regarding the report.
"Furthermore, it is planned to conduct an examination of the reported party," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Delegation of Kopaja Members, Widodo, who represented the reporter on behalf of Santun Marpaung, said that what was reported was three Kopaja administrators.
"What is reported in this case is the Kopaja management consisting of the general chairman, secretary, treasurer, meaning that we reported that of the 73 people represented by Mr. Santun," Widodo said when confirmed.
Widodo said this case began when Kopaja collaborated with TransJakarta to transform into a TransJakarta feeder in 2015.
In July 2021, Kopaja received funds from TransJakarta worth Rp. 14.2 billion for this collaboration.
Over time, the 73 members of Kopaja then questioned the transparency of the use of funds amounting to Rp. 5.6 billion.
"For other things according to their version, we also haven't received a more detailed explanation because we rushed to make a report," he said.
This means that the owner is asking for accountability related to the issue of funds that have been disbursed amounting to Rp. 5.6 billion.
Widodo said that the reported party had tried to make compensation efforts, but the amount submitted was lower than the value in question.
There were several meetings with the management. Finally, the management wants to return Rp. 2.2 billion. "In the end, the members did not count it because what was issued was Rp. 5.6 billion," said Widodo.
Because there was no meeting point, the representatives of Kopaja members then reported to the Polda Metro Jaya with the report number STLP/B/5152/X/2021/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA on October 18, 2021.
