Police Assailant With A Sickle In Banyuasin Arrested, Perpetrators Are Angry That Their Children Are Fined
PALEMBANG - The Banyuasin District Police Team, South Sumatra, arrested the perpetrators of the attack on the traffic police unit (Satlantas) with a sharp weapon of the type of sickle.
The perpetrator with the initials MN (39) is a resident of Betung Village, Betung District, Banyuasin Regency. He was arrested by the Banyuasin Police Satreskrim Opsnal Team during his flight to Lais, Musi Banyuasin Regency (Muba).
Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Imam Tarmudi in Pangkalan Balai, said the attack took place on Thursday, November 25.
At that time, the perpetrator came to the victim, Bripka Angga and Bripka Kusno, personnel of the Banyuasin Police Traffic Unit while on duty to control the flow of traffic on the Palembang-Betung road at the Polwan Monument intersection, Betung District.
The perpetrators arrived with the intention of giving them a calculation after getting a ticket in the form of confiscation of a Yamaha Vega motorbike driven by the perpetrator's child at the same place and day at around 07.00 WIB.
"The perpetrator was angry because he did not accept his son who was riding a motorcycle without a license and a helmet was ticketed and then his motorbike was confiscated by officers," he said.
According to AKBP Imam, to vent his emotions, the perpetrator brought along a sharp weapon with a sickle. Then scolded one of the victims of Bripka Angga while swinging a sickle in front of him.
After receiving this treatment, the victim evaded the swing of the perpetrator's sickle and fell several times.
Luckily, the victim was not injured by the knife, but only suffered injuries to the legs as a result of falling in a ditch while avoiding the emotional perpetrator.
Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Banyuasin Police AKP Ikang Ade said that after carrying out the attack, the perpetrator fled using a dark blue Taft car heading to Musi Banyuasin Regency, then after a few hours he was caught by his personnel during his escape.
There was also an attack on a police officer that went viral on social media by amateur video footage. If you look at the show and the motive for the fine against the perpetrator's child, it is quite tragic that this event can occur.
"Because in addition to threatening the safety of police officers, the attack incident had caused a long traffic jam on the Palembang - Betung road, which is a Sumatran crossing," he said, accompanied by Head of Traffic Adjunct Commissioner Ricky Mozam.
As a result of his actions, the perpetrator is now detained and subject to multiple articles, namely Article 335 of the Criminal Code and Article 212 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 2 of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning sharp weapons.
