TANJUNGPINANG - The Riau Islands Province (Kepri) COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) noted that three new active cases of COVID-19 appeared in Batam City and Tanjungpinang City.
Spokesperson for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, said that there were two new COVID-19 patients in Batam, and one person in Tanjungpinang. On Wednesday, November 24, Tanjungpinang had zero active cases.
"Currently, the number of active cases in Batam is 5, after adding two, and Tanjungpinang is one," said the former Head of the Riau Islands Health Office in Tanjungpinang, Antara, Thursday, November 25.
Tjejtep revealed that the total number of COVID-19 patients in Batam since the pandemic has reached 25,925 people, while the number of residents who have recovered from COVID-19 is 25,078 people. Patients who died as many as 842 people.
Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Tanjungpinang reached 10,229 people, while 9,826 people had recovered. 9,826 people died as a result of being triggered by COVID-19.
"The two areas are the Yellow Zone or the risk of transmission is low," he said.
The Task Force reminds residents to remain vigilant by consistently implementing health protocols so as not to contract COVID-19. Moreover, the mobility of the population began to be monitored densely.
