PSK And Satpol PP Chase In Grogol, 7 People Including Pimps Transported To Social Development
JAKARTA - Officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Grogol Petamburan Sub-district, West Jakarta, are involved in a chase with Commercial Sex Workers (PSK). A total of six prostitutes and one pimp were arrested.
Head of the Satpol PP of Grogol Petamburan Sub-district, Rusliyanto, said that the incident began when his office and the Tanjung Duren Police were carrying out control of Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) in the Grogol Petamburan area, Wednesday, November 24.
However, while tracing Jalan Tubagus Angke and Kali Secretary, the officers saw that there were prostitutes hanging out at the location.
"On Jalan Tubagus Angke, we have secured three sex workers and one pimp, while at Kali Secretary we have secured three sex workers," Rusliyanto explained when confirmed by Antara, Thursday, November 25.
The prostitutes immediately ran away when the officers came to them. Some of them managed to escape, but some of them were detained by officers.
"Some fled. We only secured the seven people (including pimps)," said Rusliyanto.
The prostitutes and pimps were secured and taken to Bina Insani, West Jakarta, assisted by the DKI Jakarta Social Service for guidance before being sent back to their respective families.
Rusliyanto hopes that the action taken will have a deterrent effect on prostitutes so they don't hang out in that location.
