Visited By Budi Karya And Ridwan Kamil, Patimban Port Will Be Completed As Targeted

JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), is optimistic that it can complete the construction work of Patimban Port in Subang Regency, West Java, in accordance with the targets set by the government.

"The company and other construction companies are optimistic that they can complete the work according to the set target. As of August 3, 2020, the progress of terminal and container construction has reached 77.38 percent and the progress of access road construction has reached 93.56 percent. The government can immediately conduct a soft opening for the operation of some of the activities at Patimban Port, "said PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad in a written statement quoted on Monday, August 10.

This statement was made when he received the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and his entourage who visited the progress of the development of Patimban Port.

PTPP was entrusted by the government to build the largest infrastructure project in Indonesia, namely the Patimban Port, to work on the three packages for the construction and development of the port project.

Package 1 is the construction of a terminal where the company forms a consortium with Penta-Rinkai-TOA-WIKA with a total contract value of IDR 6 trillion. Package 3 for connecting bridge construction through Joint Operation with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) with a total contract value of IDR 524 billion, and Package 4 building road access by forming a Joint Venture with Shimizu-BCK with a total contract value of IDR 1.12 trillion .

The development and development project of Patimban Port is expected by the Government of Indonesia to become a major port in the future. The terminal construction project, which began in October 2018 by the Penta-Rinkai-TOA-PP WIKA Consortium, is expected to have a soft opening in November this year.

Currently, the progress of the Patimban Terminal project development has reached 77.38 percent, in which the 420 meter x 34 meter container dock has a capacity of 250,000 TEUs with a reclamation area of 60 hectares.

The scope of work carried out by the consortium includes Car Berth, Container Bert, Car Terminal, Temporary Admi Area & Temporary Car Terminal, Truck Waiting Area, Container Terminal, Roack Work-North Bund, Utiliy Building Work, Temporary Admi Building Work, and access area.

In addition to the terminal construction project work in package 1, the company together with WIKA are building a 1 kilometer connecting bridge with the target of completing the work in December 2021. The construction work for the connecting bridge is included in the package 3 work which began in April 2020.

"The construction of the connecting bridge will be the main access linking the port agency with the access road and back up area," said Novel Arsyad.

Apart from working on packages 1 and 3, the company formed in the JV with Shimizu-BCK was also appointed by the government to work on package 4, namely the access road. The access road construction project that has been in progress since October 2018 has a length of 8.2 kilometers.

"Currently, the progress of the access road construction has reached 93.56 percent and is targeted to be completed in December this year," he added.
