Jokowi Called To Determine Formula E Circuit, Deputy Governor Of DKI: Very Grateful For Central Government Support
JAKARTA - It is rumored that President Joko Widodo will determine the Formula E circuit from five alternative locations chosen by the DKI Provincial Government.
In response, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, viewed this as the central government's support for the DKI Provincial Government to be able to organize the electric car racing event.
"Regarding the support from the central government, of course we are very grateful and grateful for the support so far from the central government to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, of course everything is for the good of all Jakarta residents," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Thursday, November 25.
According to Riza, if the central government is to be actively involved in the plan for the Formula E event, it means that the central government is paying more attention to the DKI Provincial Government to be able to make Formula E a success.
"Because this is not only about the good name of the city of Jakarta but in fact it is also about the name of Indonesia. Of course, Mr. President gave good attention," said Riza. Previously, Formula E Co-founder Alberto Longo from Formula E Operation (FEO) as the license holder of Formula E E said the exact location of the Formula E circuit would be decided by President Joko Widodo.
He conveyed this at a press conference entitled "IMI Encourages Formula E to Succeed in Indonesia" with the Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo.
"We will submit a proposal to the President of Indonesia. He will be the one who will make the decision. Before Christmas it has been announced," said Longo, Wednesday, November 24.
Currently, FEO together with the DKI Provincial Government will conduct a survey to the location that is a candidate for the electric car racing circuit.
After that, the team will make a feasibility study of the five locations before submitting the proposal to Jokowi.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo revealed five selected locations, one of which will be chosen as the Formula E circuit. The locations range from Ancol to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
"The five locations are in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Sudirman (area), JIS, JIEXPO (Kemayoran), and Ancol," said Bamsoet.
