Calm In The Face Of Critical Points Is The Key To Fajar / Rian Secures The Second Round Of Tickets
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's doubles pair, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, managed to secure a ticket to the second round of the Indonesia Open 2021. A calm appearance when facing critical points was the main key for Fajar/Rian to win over fellow Indonesian representatives.
In the first round of the Indonesia Open 2021 which was held at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua on Wednesday, November 24, Fajar/Rian managed to win over Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin.
In the match against Leo/Daniel, Fajar/Rian only needed 40 minutes to finish the match with a final score of 21-17 and 22-20. Passing the match smoothly, Rian said that the main key was to be calm when passing critical points.
"We can calm down at critical points. We also try to play more calmly at every point," said Rian as quoted from Badminton Indonesia.
Meanwhile, according to Fajar, they can get calm in the match thanks to the evaluation that has been done from previous matches.
"We've introspected where we have to improve because in this match, we can win the game," added Fajar.
During the match, Fajar / Rian admitted that at first they had difficulty overcoming Leo / Daniel. The reason is that the two men's doubles pairs both train at the Cipayung National Training Center so that they already know each other's strengths and weaknesses.
"When we meet our own friends, of course we know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Because we know that habit, we think it becomes more difficult," said Fajar.
"We have anticipated their strengths and each other's habits already know," he continued.
After defeating their compatriots in the preliminary round, Fajar/Rian will again face representatives from fellow Indonesians, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, who also successfully advanced because they won over their compatriots.
