SMAN 96 Building Collapses, DPRD Asks DKI Provincial Government To Blacklist Adhi Karya Contractors

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, asked the DKI Provincial Government, through the DKI Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement Service Agency (BPPBJ), to blacklist the rehabilitation contractor for SMAN 96 Jakarta whose building collapsed some time ago.

It is known that the winner of the auction for the construction of the SMAN 96 building was won by PT Adhi Karya (Persero) and it was sub-divided to PT Penta Rekayasa. The construction value is Rp. 33 billion.

"I will ask the provincial government to blacklist. This has threatened the safety of students' lives. Therefore, I ask for an evaluation and BPPBJ must dare to give punishment. Blacklist, lah," Taufik told reporters, Wednesday, November 24.

Taufik views that sanctions must be applied to contractors who fail to maintain the security and safety of the construction process. Therefore, he urged the DKI Provincial Government to audit Adhi Karya, which is a state-owned company.

"An audit of the planning and implementation of the construction must be carried out. I also ask the DKI BPPBJ and other agencies to evaluate Adhi Karya's work. If necessary, cancel it," said Taufik.

Taufik explained that the audit would unmask the building materials used for the renovation of the SMAN 96 school. "We want to know the quality of the building," he continued.

Previously, Member of Commission E of the DKI DPRD, Ima Mahdiah, admitted to suspecting that there was a possibility that the school building would collapse due to a reduction in the specifications of building materials. Bearing in mind, this work was taken over by a construction company other than the winning bidder.

"If it is sub-divided, it will reduce the value even more. They will definitely reduce materials, reduce specifications. So, what we want to encourage later is an audit here, whether the construction is according to the study, according to the analysis of the structure of the building which has become the standard for building schools," said ima.

For information, the incident of the collapse of part of the SMA Negeri 96 Jakarta building occurred on Wednesday, November 17 at 13.30 WIB. The incident resulted in the injury of 4 people, namely construction workers.
