212 Reunion At The Horse Statue, Deputy Governor Of DKI: The Authority Of The Regional Police, I Do Not Interfere
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that the licensing authority related to the 212 Reunion plan at the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta became the domain of the police.
"Please, later the authority will be with the Polda Metro. If at Monas the permission is the same as us, if at the Horse Statue the permission for crowds is to go to the Polda Metro Jaya, please convey it to the Polda Metro Jaya. What is the wise response from the Metro Police, I will not interfere," said Riza Patria to reporters at DKI City Hall, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 23.
Riza Patria said that his party respects freedom or the right of citizens to express their aspirations, including for gathering activities. But Riza again reminded the current condition of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I convey that because this is still the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not finished yet, we are still struggling, I hope that all activities that cause crowds please pay attention and consider, especially if these activities involve a very large number of people, it is very much feared that crowd interactions will cause the spread of the virus. COVID even though we in Jakarta have entered level 1," he explained.
The importance of maintaining health protocols in the midst of a pandemic is expected by Riza to suppress the spread of COVID-19. Moreover, the situation in Jakarta has improved, one of which is called Riza, marked by the implementation of PPKM level 1.
"We all hope that in Jakarta, which is getting better, the COVID-19 is getting better and the vaccine is getting better. We hope that the PPKM will continue to improve, we are already at level 1, hopefully it won't create a new cluster, there will be no 3rd wave in all of DKI Jakarta," said the Deputy Governor of DKI.
As previously reported, the 212 Alumni Association (PA) plans to hold a 212 reunion on December 2, 2021. However, this activity will not be held at the National Monument (Monas).
Secretary General of PA 212 Novel Bamukmin said the plan was for the 212 Reunion to be held at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta. This location is right next to Monas.
"The plan is to hold it at the Horse Statue," said Novel Bamukmin in a short message to VOI, Tuesday, November 23.
However, Novel said the preparations for the 212 Reunion were still being finalized by the event organizing committee.
"Everything is still in the brewing process. Later when it is fixed, we will send the official release," said Novel.
For your information, Reunion 212 has been held in recent years. Initially, this activity began with a demonstration to urge the legal process of former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) for the blasphemy case on December 2, 2016 at Monas and its surroundings.
The following year, the organizers held the 212 Reunion on the same date. Various issues developed in line with the implementation of this activity, starting with pressure to the government to process the case of alleged blasphemy against Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, as well as the return of the high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front, Rizieq Shihab, to his homeland.
