Small Opportunities In PDIP, Ganjar Pranowo Can Try 'Applying' To Democrats Or Golkar

JAKARTA - The chance for Ganjar Pranowo to be promoted by the PDI-Perjuangan to become a presidential or vice presidential candidate in the 2024 election is considered small.

This was conveyed by senior researcher Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), Saidiman Ahmad. In fact, in order to participate in the democratic party, Ganjar Pranowo needs a boat.

"If PDIP does not support Ganjar, there will be two possibilities. First, he will not advance at all, second, he will be promoted by another party," Saidiman said in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 23.

Nevertheless, Saidiman assessed, it was not difficult for Ganjar to find and 'apply' to other political parties. In particular, major nationalist parties such as the Golkar Party and the Democratic Party. However, according to Saidiman, Ganjar is more likely to run for president if he sets foot in the Democratic Party. Because, Golkar already has a presidential candidate, namely its general chairman, Airlangga Hartarto. "Golkar already has Airlangga, who has fairly solid support. It feels like a party like the Democrats has a chance. The Democratic Party has an interest in restoring glory. The pockets of Democrat votes in Central and East Java need to be maximized. open," he explained. In addition, he continued, there was a vacancy for populist figures in the Democratic Party after the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) ended.

"The character aspect is still very big in Indonesian political culture. Democrats have triumphed because of SBY's character aspect. This party needs a figure as popular as SBY to restore its glory. And I think Ganjar is enough to fulfill that," he said.
