FEO Formula E Has Arrived In Jakarta, Will Review Circuit Candidates In The Jakarta Area

JAKARTA - The Formula E Operation (FEO) team, including the Co-founder of Formula E, Alberto Longo as the license holder of Formula E, is reported to have arrived in Jakarta. This was confirmed by the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).

"Yes (FEO has come to Jakarta)," said President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo Widi Amansto when met at the DKI DPRD building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 23.

Widi said that FEO will review alternative locations that will become the Formula E circuit. The DKI Provincial Government has prepared five selected locations.

"So, they will review which alternative locations we will propose for them to determine. So, they are still waiting from the FIA because there is another organization above it whether this is feasible from these alternatives," said Widi.

Separately, members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD faction, Syarif, also received news that FEO had arrived in the capital. Syarif said that the FEO group and the DKI Provincial Government would review the circuit candidates in the North Jakarta area.

"The place is around the north, lah," said Syarif.

It is known, one of the alternative locations for the electric car racing circuit is in the reclamation island area. However, Syarif refused to confirm this. "I didn't mention it (the reclamation island)," he said.

For information, Jakarta will officially host Formula E on June 4, 2022. This decision was made through the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Paris, on October 15, 2021, which also ratified the 8th season racing calendar for 2021/2022.

Previously, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the license holder of Formula E, namely Formula E Operation, would come to Jakarta to review the 5 locations that were used as options for the Formula E event.

These five alternative places were prepared because the DKI Provincial Government canceled the plan to organize Formula E at the National Monument (Monas) because it did not get permission from the central government.

"There are five points that are being alternative. We will wait for formula E to review which locations are possible. God willing, this month (November)," said Riza.

Riza had revealed a number of alternative locations, including the reclamation island, namely Pulau D or Pantai Maju and Pulau G or Pantai Bersama. In addition, the Senayan area is also one of the circuit choices.

"There are 5 points that are being used as alternatives. One of them has been mentioned (on the Island of Reclamation). Another place, sorry, I can't convey. If it has now been submitted, it will be crowded. If it becomes crowded, it will be difficult, yes," he said.
