Airlangga: PPKM Outside Java-Bali Extended Until 6 December
JAKARTA - The government has again extended the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) outside Java-Bali for 14 days. The policy is valid from 23 November to 6 December.
Chairman of the COVID-19 Handling Outside Java-Bali, Airlangga Hartarto said that one of the important factors in determining PPKM was the dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
"Especially outside Java-Bali, the extension is carried out from November 23 to December 6 for two weeks. The implementation is seen from the vaccination dose which is less than 50 percent increased to 1 level of PPKM," he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, November 22.
Airlangga said, as many as 7 provinces were included in the level 1 category. Then 20 were level 2 provinces, and there were no provinces that were included in the PPKM level 3 and 4 categories outside Java-Bali. This is based on an assessment with community transmission and response capacity.
"From 27 provinces at level 4 zero, level 3 is also zero and 20 provinces at level 2 and 7 provinces at level 1," he said.
The seven PPKM level 1 provinces are Riau Islands, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), North Sumatra, Lampung, South Kalimantan and Southeast Sulawesi. The number of level 1 provinces has decreased from two weeks ago, which recorded 13 provinces entering level 1 PPKM outside Java-Bali.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy said that in the next two weeks there will be 109 regencies/cities at level 3. Then, 200 regencies/cities at level 2 and 77 districts/cities at level 1.
"This number (PPKM level 1) has increased from the previous 51 districts/cities," he said.
In addition, Airlangga said that active cases outside Java-Bali decreased compared to the previous peak of COVID-19 cases, the decline even reached 98.5 percent. The number of active cases during the two weeks of PPKM Java-Bali amounted to 8,126 cases.
