Appearing In Abu Dhabi, Pertamina Gas Subholding Exposes Business Digitization
JAKARTA - Pertamina's gas subholding explained the transformation and digitalization of business at the 2021 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) which was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
PGN and Pertagas presented a theme related to Oil & Gas 4.0: Journey to Digital Transformation with the material Digital Integration, Success Story of Accelerating Gas Delivery Integration in Two Biggest Natural Gas Company in Indonesia.
The Subholding Gas officers representing Arief Mujiyanto, M. Subhan Missuari and Fonny Prasmono Adi showcased their innovations at an international conference held on November 15-18, 2021.
PGN Corporate Secretary Rachmat Hutama said the company supports Gas Subholding officers as resource persons at international conferences. This is a manifestation of the company's vision to become a world-class energy company.
In its presentation, the Gas Subholding Team explained that this success was due to management support and effective collaboration in accelerating increasingly synergic business integration between PGN and Pertagas with digitalization marked by the integration of gas distribution.
So, he said, currently gas from Sumatra has been successfully flowed through PGN's South Sumatra-West Java (SSWJ) pipeline. This gas is to meet the needs of customers in the fertilizer and refinery sectors in the Pertagas West Java Area (WJA) pipeline network, which is experiencing a natural decline trend.
“The integration of gas distribution can run effectively thanks to digital integration through the SIPGas Gas Management System (GMS) application. With this application, the Subholding Gas Group can monitor gas distribution at the integration point in real time and monitor the distribution performance of each area per day. It can even digitize the billing process from meter to cash so that billing to customers becomes more effective, fast and accurate," said Rachmat in an official statement, Monday, November 22.
With this application, it is easier for the Subholding Gas Group to optimize gas distribution from each supply in an integrated network. Gas distribution to strategic industries is also more flexible, such as power plants, fertilizers and refineries, and it is easier to meet customer unmet demands.
“The achievement of digitalization of integrated natural gas management is proof that innovation in Subholding Gas is recognized at the international level through the ADIPEC event. Moreover, ADIPEC is a conference attended by players from the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, as well as the digitalization process which is a trend in the world today," said Rachmat. PGN as Sub Holding Gas under Pertamina Oil and Gas Holding currently has a long network. 10,760 km which is 96% of Indonesia's natural gas infrastructure. With distribution in the transmission pipeline of 1,238 MMSCFD and gas distribution volume of 873 BBTUD until September 2021.
Digitalization is part of Subholding Gas' efforts in optimizing every natural gas opportunity through gasification programs for refineries, fertilizers, power plants, industry, retail and gas, maritime and land sectors, which are the company's current and future focus. It is hoped that in the future it can also support government programs in reducing carbon emissions with more environmentally friendly natural gas as part of the energy transition in Indonesia.
