Bareskrim Polri Unloads Syndicate Of Gas Mixing In DPR Tangerang Lot
JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has dismantled a syndicate of mixing subsidized LPG gas in Tangerang. Five people were arrested, hundreds of gas savings were confiscated as evidence.
Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono said the disclosure of this case took place on August 5. The perpetrators with the initials S, LA, ED, NS and UG carried out the action by injecting gas from a 3 kilogram tube into a larger tube.
"The modus operandi of the case is that the perpetrator injected 3 kilograms of gas, namely subsidized gas cylinders were injected into 12 kilograms of gas, then 50 kilograms of subsidized gas cylinders. The injected gas cylinders were marketed to the public," Awi told reporters on Friday, 7 August.
The five perpetrators who were arrested at different locations have their respective roles. ES and ED actors as drivers, LA and NS as loading and unloading personnel, and UG as the person in charge.
The action of mixing gas cylinders is in two locations. First, the DPR Block A Block, Cipondoh, Tangerang City, Banten and the DPR Block Block C Lot, Jalan Kampung Noroktog, Tangerang City, Banten.
"The results of the raid can be secured by 563 gas cylinders 3 kilograms size, 175 gas cylinders 12 kilograms, 22 gas cylinders 50 kilograms and a number of empty gas cylinders," said Awi.
Because of their actions, the perpetrators were charged under Article 53 letters d, c, d of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas, with a maximum prison sentence of four years and a maximum fine of IDR 40 billion.
The suspect is also charged with Article 8 paragraph (1) letter a, Article 62 paragraph (1) of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, with a maximum imprisonment of five years and / or a maximum fine of IDR 2 billion.
