Police Arrest Perpetrator Of Begal Taxi Driver Who Was Slashed To Death While Hanging On Jalan Gunung Gede
BOGOR – The Bogor Police managed to arrest the perpetrators of the robbery who killed the taxi driver on Jalan Gunung Gede, Bogor City. After being investigated, the perpetrator with the initials RY (22) turned out to have often committed robbery or robbed a number of his victims in the Depok and Bogor areas.
Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro said the death of the taxi driver was known at around 05.00 WIB, on November 6, 2021, last. The victim with the initials YS died because he was struck by a sickle in the thigh by RY and AW, his colleague who is still at large.
"At around 5 that morning on Jalan Gunung Gede, the victim who died was YS, the Bluebird taxi driver, due to a gunshot wound to the thigh and took the victim's cellphone," said Susatyo to reporters, Monday, November 22.
The suspect, RY, was apparently also involved in other similar actions in Bogor and Depok. The target is to seize the victim's valuables.
"So the motive was all to take the victim's valuables to cellphones. We also cooperate with the Polda Metro Jaya because there are actors who carried out their actions in Depok. The action is random, targeting the early hours of the morning when there are no activities and quiet conditions,” said Susatyo.
Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation at the Bogor City Police, Kompol Dhoni Erwanto, explained that the confiscation of the Bluebird taxi driver was carried out while the victim was waiting for passengers.
“So when the taxi driver was staying at Jalan Gunung Gede next to Bumi Aki. As soon as the suspect (RY) passed by, then saw that the victim himself was playing with his cellphone, he immediately tried to take his cellphone," he said.
At that time, the victim resisted so the suspect stabbed the victim in the thigh and fled. Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead by doctors at the hospital due to loss of blood.
“For resisting, he ended up being stabbed in the leg. The victim died at the PMI Hospital," he concluded.
