Dengue Fever In Tangerang Continues To Soar, This Month Touches 21 Cases
TANGERANG - Tangerang City Health Office Banten said, from August to October there was an increase in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). In August there were nine cases, September 12 cases and October 21 cases.
Head of Disease Eradication and Control, Tangerang City Health Office, Harmayani said, if calculated, from January to October there were 146 cases. Harmayani asked the community to adopt a healthy and clean lifestyle.
"The public is advised to clean their yards and the environment because there has been an increase in cases. Because these cases can risk death if not handled properly and quickly," he said in Tangerang, Antara, Monday, November 22.
Since last October, the Health Office has instructed a number of stakeholders from hospitals and health centers to coordinate with each other regarding the handling of cases. Each sub-district, village and health center must work together to mobilize the community to improve the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) and eradicate mosquito nests with 4M Plus.
"4M Plus, which is to monitor larvae in places that have the potential to lay eggs, drain or clean, close water reservoirs, utilize or recycle used goods to carry out a series of prevention of dengue mosquito bites," he explained.
Harmayani said, the Health Office had also appealed to immediately report to the Puskesmas in less than 24 hours if a dengue case was found in the area.
"Furthermore, he was assigned to the Puskesmas to carry out inspections to the location of the incident and to carry out prevention in the surrounding area by carrying out PSN (Mosquito Nest Eradication) where larvae were found around the case. Thus, the spread of dengue fever was not sustainable," he said.
He also appealed to the people of Tangerang City to take care to prevent this dengue case, so that family members don't get bitten by the dengue mosquito.
"Keeping the house clean, especially the eradication of mosquitoes in water reservoirs must be carried out in each house by activating one house, one larva monitoring interpreter (jumantik). Strengthen PHBS by paying attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment. Do this jumantik movement together with the villagers, to take care of each other," he said.
