JAKARTA – During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the government is worried about the emergence of a third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. To anticipate various preparations made, so as not to be missed.

The Bogor City Government, West Java, is now ready to activate a field hospital (RS) and operate a centralized isolation area in the Education and Training Center Building of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Ciawi to anticipate the third wave of COVID-19 cases.

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto in Bogor, Saturday, November 20, said that the Bogor City Government will continue to be alert and vigilant.

"However, we remain alert and vigilant," Bima said when interviewed by Antara regarding the positive case of COVID-19 that occurred in 24 educators and students of SDN Sukapeace 2, on the sidelines of sports activities at the Pajajaran Sports Center (GOR) Bogor.

Bima Arya said the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force had made efforts to prevent the spread of the disease from getting wider by asking the Health Office (Dinkes) to conduct observations for the next 10 days on 24 people who were found to be positively infected with the corona virus.

Then there will be a search for 200 people who have close contact with these 24 people.

The central government, according to Bima, will also carry out screening or screening of 1,000 people who are in school institutions.

"Next week, the center will conduct a screening of more than 1,000, so we are all ready," he said.

In addition, limited face-to-face learning (PTM) at SDN Sukapeace 2, which is located in Sukapeace Village, Tanah Sereal District, was also suspended for 10 days. This follows the finding of 24 positive cases of COVID-19 in students and teachers at the school.

"We are in accordance with the rules asking for PTM to be stopped for 10 days and all close contact tracing has been carried out, currently in the process for a PCR swab to be carried out," said Bima.

The Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force, continued Bima Arya, since the beginning, PTM Limited conducted regular screenings once a month.

In the early days of limited PTM, 5 positive cases of COVID-19 were found, then on Wednesday, November 17, 50 PCR swab samples were screened consisting of 29 students and 21 educators at SDN Sukapeace 2 by the Mekarwangi Health Center and examined by PCR at the Labkesda.

The results of the lab test showed that there were 24 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19, consisting of 14 students and 10 teaching staff without symptoms.

“All of them are asymptomatic and are self-isolating. I think this is an indication that 'herd immunity' has been established, because it is different, hopefully not an indication of a third wave, hopefully this is an indication of 'herd immunity', so the virus is getting weaker because there are no symptoms, “he explained.
