Pekanbaru Police Fail To Smuggle 4,728 Ecstasy Pills To Bali
PEKANBARU - Pekanbaru City Police officers arrested A (46) and LZ, the owners of 4,728 ecstasy pills and 5.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine which were found at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, which were planned to be sent to Bali.
Pekanbaru Police Chief, Kombes Pria Budi, said that male suspect A (46) is a resident of Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency, who is currently behind bars.
In the chronology of the arrests, on Wednesday, November 10, the Pekanbaru Police Satnarkoba Team was contacted by airport officials who informed them that a black suitcase was found which contained narcotics suspected to be ecstasy pills and methamphetamine. Then the evidence was brought to the Mako Polresta and development was carried out so that the perpetrator with the initials A.
From A's statement, it is known that these illicit goods were obtained from LZ. From that confession, the team then carried out developments, until finally LZ was arrested on November 16, 2021 on Jalan Papaya, Rokan Hilir Regency.
"When LZ was taken into custody, it turned out that methamphetamine was found in his body, but not too much. It seemed that he was for his own consumption," said the Chief of Police, quoted by Antara, Friday, November 19.
After the information was taken, it turned out that LZ was A's messenger from prison.
A ordered LZ to take the ecstasy pills in the Bagansiapiapi area, Rokan Hilir. On November 7, 2021, LZ took the item from a person who is still being sought by the police.
After the drugs were taken, the items were handed over to A on November 8, 2021. LZ was paid Rp60 million to take the items.
Apparently, A got an order from someone with the initials AH who was in Bali. This AH ordered 5,000 pills of ecstasy to A. When the devil pills were to be flown to Bali from SSK II Airport, the officers first secured the suspect along with the evidence.
The two suspects who have been arrested will be stipulated in Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics article 114 paragraph 2. The threat of a minimum sentence of 6 years in prison, a maximum of 20 years in prison with a minimum fine of Rp. 1 billion and a maximum of Rp. 10 billion.
