Police Searched, Robbery Perpetrator At Tenjo Station Holds Assembled Firearm Type Revolver Sharp Bullet
TANGERANG - The ranks of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cisoka Sector Police of the Tangerang Polresta, the Banten Police, managed to apprehend AS (32). The resident of Tebing Village, Melinting District, East Lampung Regency was arrested for allegedly being the perpetrator of motor vehicle theft (curanmor).
Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Pol Wahyu Sri explained that the theft occurred on Saturday 6 November in Cikasungka Village, Solear District, Tangerang Regency.
Wahyu said the victim with the initials H (42), a resident of Cileles Village, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency, was visiting a friend's house. The victim parked the motorbike in front of his friend's house with a double lock.
"Then when the victim was going home, the motorbike was gone. The victim tried to find it all the way to the Tenjo area, Bogor. At Tenjo Station, the victim saw a motorbike identical to his motorbike," said Wahyu.
The victim then informed the Station Head. Next, the Station Head contacted the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cisoka Sector Police. Not long after, the Cisoka Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team arrived at Tenjo Station.
Officers with the victim and crew of Tenjo Station conducted surveillance for up to several hours. After that, a man came, namely the US suspect, riding a motorcycle which was later found to be the victim's motorcycle.
"Officers then examined the suspect by asking for vehicle documents. The suspect panicked and then tried to run away," said Wahyu.
Officers immediately gave chase and managed to arrest the suspect. The police then searched the suspect's body and belongings. In the sling bag brought by the suspect, the police found several pieces of evidence.
"In the bag, our officers found a revolver-type homemade firearm with 55.6 caliber bullet ammunition," Wahyu said.
In addition, the police also found a T-lock consisting of the handle and key as well as a magnet to open the lock. The suspect and the evidence were then taken to the Cisoka Sector Police for examination.
To investigators, the suspect AS admitted to acting with his colleague whose identity was known and had been designated as a wanted list (DPO). The US suspect also admitted that his friend's homemade firearm.
"The US suspect admitted that he had acted in the Tangerang Regency area 11 times. We will continue to develop and investigate this case," Wahyu explained.
The suspect was charged with Article 363 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 1 of the Emergency Law for possession of a firearm with a penalty of 7 years in prison.
