There Is A Name Nia DaCosta In The Captain Marvel Sequel Candidate Line
JAKARTA - There is new news from the Captain Marvel film. Nia DaCosta is said to be the director of the sequel to this film, replacing Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
The studio has met several candidates, but DaCosta is said to have an edge. DaCosta has also met with Marvel chairman Kevin Feige over the weekend.
Additionally, Megan McDonnell, a writer on the Marvel series WandaVision, will act as the scriptwriter for the Captain Marvel sequel. Meanwhile, Brie Larson returned to be the main star.
In the first film, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is a human who is involved in a war between two alien races, the Kree and the form-changing Skrulls.
Surviving the massive explosion in the alien machine gave him incredible powers that turned him into Captain Marvel, and he became one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain Marvel was released in March 2019 with revenues of US $ 1.13 billion worldwide.
Marvel is known to always change directors for the next film series in order to provide new colors. Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America are some of them.
Meanwhile, DaCosta's inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will further add to the diversity of the film, especially in terms of the individuals behind the camera.
DaCosta will join forces with other strong female filmmakers such as Chloe Zhao and Cathy Yan who have successfully directed films from big comic books like Marvel and DC.
DaCosta's name has risen to prominence since directing the indie film Little Woods, a film that received critical acclaim and placed him as executive producers and producers including Jordan Peele, who chose him to direct Candyman.
However, so far Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to comment.
