Land Mafia Notary Nirina Zubir Denies Conspiracy

JAKARTA - Notaries and land certificate makers (PPAT), Faridah and Ina Rosiana, denied being called a conspiracy in the land mafia case with victim Nirina Zubir. Both confirmed that they were doing their job properly.

"Our client in managing these certificates only carries out his duties and positions as a notary and PPAT. Our client is not a gang or syndicate of Riri Khasmita," said his second lawyer, Muadz Heidar in his statement, Friday, November 19.

The rebuttal, said Muadz, was based on Riri the main suspect who came to Faridah's office claiming to be the adopted son of Cut Indramartini, Nirina Zubir's parents.

Riri wants to consult on the management of the title transfer of the land certificate and to make a power of attorney to sell the land certificate. During the meeting, Riri admitted that his actions were a mandate from Cut Indramartini.

"Riri conveyed to our client that all of Riri's actions had been mandated by Mrs. Cut so that the certificates were reversed in Riri's name and initially asked for a deed of power to sell," said Muadz.

Then, at the next meeting, Riri brought Cut Indramartini to come to Faridah's office. Riri asked Cut Indramartini to sign the deed of power of attorney to sell. However, Faridah admitted that she had not been able to publish it because there were incomplete requirements.

Furthermore, Riri came back to Faridah's office to continue to be assisted in the process of changing the name of the land certificate, as well as making the deed of sale and purchase of land. Seeing the previous meeting, where Riri was able to bring Cut Indramartini to her office, Faridah finally complied with Riri's request.

"In the end, our client (Faridah) made a draft of the sale and purchase deed and conveyed that the names listed in the certificate were also present before our client for the signing of the Sale and Purchase Deed," explained Muadz.

However, Riri objected to that condition. Riri reasoned that the names of the certificate owners were busy and could not attend. Riri also agreed to deliver the draft of the sale and purchase deed to the owners for signature.

"Because they already believed, our client gave the draft of the sale and purchase deed to Riri on condition that at the time of signing the sale and purchase deed, Riri made the documentation," he said.

At this time, Muadz said that Farida was trying to mediate with the victims, including Nirina Zubir, to prove that Farida and Ina were not collaborating with Riri. Farida wants to make peace and help Nirina to return the land certificate to its original state.

"Hopefully the complainant, the heirs of the late Ms. Cut Indria and other parties who were harmed will continue to give us the opportunity to have a dialogue, so that the problem can be resolved amicably," said Muadz.

Nirina Zubir became a victim of the land mafia. There are 6 land certificates that suddenly change ownership status.

In that case, Nirina is said to have suffered a loss of Rp. 17 billion. The police have also named five suspects, one of whom is Riri, a former assistant to Nirina Zubir's late mother.

The suspects were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 372 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 263 of the Criminal Code. They face up to five years in prison.
