Gojek Driver Viral In Malang Asks For Permission Before Harassing Passengers, Had Said Don't Be Angry, Ms.
JAKARTA - Indecent actions carried out by Gojek drivers against their passengers have gone viral. This story was shared by the Twitter account @tatapitaloka departing from the incident experienced by his own colleague. In the tweet, the driver asked for permission to hold the victim's breast and asked her not to get angry.
The case chronology begins when a colleague from @tatapitaloka uses this service. While on the motorbike, the driver suddenly asked to cancel the order but made sure it would be delivered to its destination.
"The reason is so that the driver's balance is not deducted, I just agreed with my friend, it turns out that during the trip I got abuse like that," the account tweeted on Friday, November 19.
Receiving this harassment, the victim could not do much either by giving a rating or directly reporting it to Gojek.
"So there is no other way for my friend to express her disappointment with @gojekindonesia's service other than uploading it on ig and twitter, so please help, friends, so that this incident doesn't happen to you or your relatives," he said.
The @tatapitaloka account hopes that this will be the last case experienced by the online motorcycle taxi passenger.
"No matter how small the customer's complaint, please follow up, don't wait for it to go viral, because actually not a few have experienced sexual harassment received from your partners, ok?," he said.
Gojek Regional Head of Corporate Affairs for the East Java and Bali Nusra Regions, Alfianto Domy Aji condemned the incident of harassment by unscrupulous driver partners that occurred in Malang, East Java. Gojek does not tolerate any criminal acts, including harassment that disturbs the discomfort in the work ecosystem.
"Regarding this case, Gojek has terminated the partnership (partnership) with the perpetrator, because the harassment act that was carried out was against the law. This was done to protect millions of other driver partners who work honestly for their families and also to protect our loyal consumers. ," said Alfianto to VOI
To help victims, Gojek has also prepared and offered psychological and trauma recovery steps.
"Up to assistance to process this case through legal channels if needed," he said.
