Suspected Terrorism Cases Farid Ahmad Okbah And Ahmad Zain An-Najah Threatened 15 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the alleged terrorists Farid Ahmad Okbah and Ahmad Zain An-Najah could face up to 15 years in prison after becoming suspects in terrorism cases. Both are also involved in funding the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.
"The punishment is based on terrorist financing, the threat is 15 years in prison," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Friday, November 19.
In funding the JI network, the two suspected terrorists established the Abdurrahman Bin Auf Mall Amil Zakat Agency (LAZ BM ABA).
With that role, continued Ramadhan, both of them were charged with Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 of Law Number 15 of 2018 concerning Criminal Acts of Terrorism. In addition, both of them were also charged with Law No. 9 of 2003 concerning the Financing of Terrorism for the LAZ BM ABA foundation.
Meanwhile, for the alleged terrorist Anung Al-Hamat, the Police are said to be involved in the JI wing organization tasked with providing legal assistance, namely Perisai Nusantara Esa.
"We know that this is still in process. Densus 88 will start to be arrested until 14 days later, according to Article 28 paragraph 1 of the Terrorism Law, they have 14 days to investigate," said Ramadhan.
Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested three suspected terrorists of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network in Bekasi, West Java. The three are Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An-Najah, and Anung Al-Hamat.
For the suspected terrorist, Farid Okbah is the chairman of the Indonesian Ralyat Da'wah Party (PDRI). Then, Ahmad Zain is a member of the Central MUI Fatwa Commission.
The three were arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror on Tuesday, November 16 in Bekasi, West Java.
