Menkominfo: ICT Contributes Positively During The Pandemic Period
JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate said that the information and communication technology (ICT) sector could continue to make a positive contribution to Indonesia's economic growth. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
Referring to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, it shows that the ICT sector experienced growth of 10.88 percent in the second quarter of 2020. This positive contribution motivates the Ministry of Communication and Information to continue to improve in preparing the communication and information infrastructure in Indonesia.
"There are still two more quarters, and the third quarter of 2020 is decisive. With the enthusiasm and sincerity of all of us, it is hoped that it will quickly lead to an economic shield or umbrella," said the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny as quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 6.
Moreover, in the global COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Minister of Communication and Informatics also asked his ministry to make innovative steps so that they can be implemented as early as possible starting from the beginning of 2021.
"We expect the recovery and rebound of Indonesia's economy in 2021 from the beginning of the year. Improving the quality of spending that is better (better), not more (not more), supported by an efficient bureaucracy, able to work as a team. This is our collective responsibility," he said.
He continued, "I believe that with all our intelligence, passion and hard work, this nation calls us all to do it well in our daily lives to break the chain of COVID-19 and save the economy with full enthusiasm and optimism."
Predicate WTP from BPKPreviously, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics also received the title of Unqualified (WTP) for the fourth time from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). This achievement was achieved in the Submission of the Audit Result Report on the 2019 Ministry of Communication and Information Financial Report.
"This is an achievement for four years in a row since the 2016 financial report, the Ministry of Communication and Information received an unqualified assessment, the highest opinion based on the BPK's basic criteria standards," said Minister Johnny.
"Furthermore, we need to maintain it because this is an obligation for the management of state finances," he added.
Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Informatics hopes that the government as the executor of state finance will continue to be able to maintain this assessment, along with control, accountability and transparency so that all programs owned by the government can be implemented on time and on target.
"It is not enough to send and deliver, it must be responsive and answered. Not only the construction is on time and on target, but it must also be enjoyed by the community," said the Nasdem politician.
