Exclusive Mawar De Jongh Continuous Learning, Pushing Himself Beyond His Ability Today
JAKARTA - Six years into a career in the entertainment world, Mawar De Jongh is growing. Almost all platforms have tried. Not satisfied, Mawar always looks for challenges so that she can trigger this girl who was born on September 26, 2001 to continue studying.
Starting from Miss Celebrity 2015, Mawar, who was only 14 years old, then tried to play soap operas and FTV. Her name soared when she played the character of Annelies Mallema in the film Bumi Manusia. When the big screen movie has been mastered, Mawar quickly offers a new ability that is singing to her fans. Mawar de Jongh has just released a song called Ever Wrong. Never Salah was created by Alam Urbach with powerful strings, piano and guitar. This song tells about a person's regret after his relationship with his lover ends.
Mawar admitted that the process of recording the song Ever Salah was quite long and had many challenges. One of the difficulties encountered was the many high notes.
"There are many high-pitched parts where I have to do belting (high chest voice). However, because of the help of the team who were present during the recording, everything went smoothly," said Mawar during an interview via zoom with VOI, some time ago.
The song Ever Wrong, according to him, is very beautiful. "The lyrics and singing technique are different, there is a song with a high pitch. In the video clip I also wore a high school uniform again. I'm really happy, but do you think it fits? It's fun. I graduated 2019 actually not long ago, but it's really funny ," he recalled.
When this song was played for the first time, Mawar admitted that she immediately liked it. "If you are asked to choose which one makes you baper, actually all of them. At first, I was afraid that I had doubts about how I could perform the song well. Finally, I got support from my mother, manager, and other friends, so I was sure I could do it," he explained.
Certainly not an easy matter for a Mawar to try all new things in her career. Willingness to learn is the key to progress. Even if you pay attention, from one song to the next, you can see how Mawar's singing quality has improved over time.
"If the recording was at that time, I was learning the song myself, I was learning again in the recording process, then I was also learning with the vocal teacher again. I was learning then," he said firmly.
Idolizing Tulus, Mawar seems to want to sing something that can reach the hearts of her listeners. Of course, want a duet with Tulus later.
"As for role models in my own music, I idolize Tulus. Because singing is effortless but reaches the heart. I hope one day I can duet with Tulus," he hoped.
Dreams of Roses
Apparently, music is Mawar's main hobby. Since childhood, he is familiar with Westlife songs.
"I have liked music since I was little because my mother loves music, from listening to Westlife and other bands. One time, they were offered a vocal test and were accepted. Finally, I took this opportunity to give birth to my singles now," he explained.
"In the beginning I sang an up beat song which had its own challenges. Later, how to convey the feelings in the song well was quite difficult," he said.
Mawar admitted that she still had homework to learn to sing with confidence when she was on stage. "I have to conquer my fear of singing on stage, I feel nervous because many people see it. Do they like the song or not? Do you know the song? So try to be more confident on stage," explained the girl of Dutch descent.
This challenge is a bit difficult to overcome because the pandemic has brought music stages to a halt. Even though Mawar had just started her music career when the pandemic came.
"Honestly, I really miss you, I'm excited, relieved after the gig, singing together with everyone watching. Because singing off line is a pleasure in itself," said Mawar.
So far, Mawar is active on social media to reach her fans directly. "Social media plays a very important role in introducing ourselves, our work. Social media plays a big role in introducing my films and songs," he explained.
His loyal fan, Mawaris, gives him more power through interactions on social media. "Mawaris have become part of my family. They are always supportive, happy with my work, confident in my work. Support from them that I can't get from other people, can only come from Mawaris," he said.
When tired of greeting, words of support from Mawaris revived Mawar's spirit. "Many DMs say that they are waiting for my work, proud of me, still enthusiastic. It really helps when you are tired, they feel down, they are always there," he said.
Actively playing music, does not mean that Mawar's acting career is over. Several films have finished filming, but Mawar is not sure when they will be released. "For the latest film, I can't tell you when, but once I know when it's out I'll definitely let you know," he promised.
Mawar has also continued her studies in college since 2019. He must be good at managing his time. "To divide the time is quite difficult, for school, acting, and singing. I have to balance all three. I hope all can be consistent," he explained.
"The three of them are my platforms for learning and I don't think I've ever studied enough. For college I feel like I want to know more about the majors I'm taking, I feel this is important for me in the future," he said.
Mawar wants to try hard to get the best results in the future. Like her mother, Mawar is always enthusiastic. "My idol is my own mother, because I can see she is always enthusiastic, never complains, always gives the best for her two children," he hoped.
Mawar De Jongh holds hope for her future. "In the next five years, hopefully, Mawar will have graduated from college, doing what she likes, writing her own songs, playing films with new genres that she has never had before," he explained.
"In the next ten years I mean I'm 30, maybe I already have a family. Mawar still does the things she likes, always healthy," concluded Mawar De Jongh.
