Support Fiscal, Purchase Value Of Bank Indonesia SBN Reaches Rp143 Trillion
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is said to continue to purchase Government Securities (SBN) to assist the government in terms of state finances.
BI Governor Perry Warjoyo said that until November 16, 2021 the value of the collection of SBN that had been recorded by the central bank touched Rp. 143.32 trillion.
"The purchases consist of Rp. 67.87 trillion through the main auction mechanism and Rp. 75.46 trillion through the Greenshoe Option (GSO) mechanism," he said after holding the Board of Commissioners' Meeting, quoted Friday, November 19.
According to Perry, the SBN obtained by Bank Indonesia was obtained from the primary market in accordance with the Joint Decree of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of Bank Indonesia on April 16, 2020.
"The purchase of SBN is intended to fund the 2021 State Budget," he added.
For information, in the last BI report on October 15, 2021, it was known that the purchase of SBN from the central bank was recorded at Rp. 142.54. This indicates that BI has made additional collections of around Rp. 780 billion in the last one month.
"This is part of an accommodative monetary policy and the impact of Bank Indonesia's synergy with the government in supporting the national economic recovery," concluded BI Governor Perry Warjiyo.
