Prosecutors Arrest Fugitive ASN Case Abandoned Family In Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Besar District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has arrested a state civil servant (ASN) with the initials ES (51) who has been a fugitive for two months in the case of neglecting his family.

"We have been looking for it for about two months, and since we issued the DPO status to the convict, we have received information from the public about the convict's whereabouts," said the Executing Prosecutor of the Aceh Besar Kejari, Shidqi Noer Salsa, in Aceh Besar, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 18.

Shidqi said that ES was previously found guilty on August 12, 2021, for committing a criminal act of neglecting a family around August 2015 in Cot Iri, Gla Meunasah Baro Village, Krueng Barona Jaya District, Aceh Besar District.

The execution of the convict ES who had become a fugitive was carried out based on an order from the Head of the Aceh Besar Kejari regarding the implementation of a court decision that has permanent legal force.

Shidqi explained, at the trial at the first level at the Jantho District Court, the convict ES was found guilty of violating Article 49 letter a in conjunction with Article 9 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence, and was sentenced to one year in prison.

Then, the convict made an appeal, but the panel of judges at the appeals level handed down a verdict of eight months in prison on August 12, 2021.

"Until today, the convict ES is still an ASN at one of the sub-district offices in Banda Aceh City," he said.

In that case, said Shidqi, the convict was found to have left his wife and children for more than four years, without providing maintenance and other obligations to his family.

In fact, he also said, prior to the abandonment of the family, the convict was suspected of having a relationship with another woman to the point that his household was not harmonious.

"The convict ES also had an unregistered marriage with another woman when he left the house," said Shidqi.

Shidqi added that the convict during the trial process was not detained, because he was considered cooperative. and now the person concerned has been sent to the Jantho Aceh Besar Rutan.
