Examining Former Minister Of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, KPK Investigates Nickel Mine Ownership
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating nickel mining ownership in the investigation of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Amran Sulaiman. The examination was held at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police.
Amran Sulaiman was examined as a witness related to allegations of corruption in granting exploration and exploitation mining authorization permits and production operations mining business permits from the North Konawe Regency Government in 2007-2014. Amran was eventually checked after requesting a rescheduling.
"In today's examination of witness Amran Sulaiman, the investigative team confirmed, among other things, the ownership of a nickel mine in North Konawe Regency," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati told reporters.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, November 17, investigators examined two witnesses. They are the Director of PT Tambang Wisnu Mandiri, Bisman and a private party named Andi Ady Aksar Armansyah.
To these two witnesses, the KPK confirmed several things. One of them is related to the management of IUP in North Konawe Regency.
In this case, the former regent of North Konawe Aswad is suspected of accepting bribes of up to Rp13 billion from a number of businessmen who were granted mining permits in his area. As a result of his actions, he was later named a suspect by the KPK and was considered to have harmed the state up to IDR 2.7 trillion.
This figure is called the KPK comes from the sale of nickel production through a process that is not in accordance with the rules. Aswad is suspected of unilaterally revoking the mining authorization which is majority controlled by PT Antam.
