Upset About Not Being Given Money, Middle-aged Man Decides To Burn His Lover's House, Residents Want To Put Out The Fire And Even Raise A Knife
TANGERANG – Tjiang Lie Tjoe (61) couldn't help but cry when he saw his house and property burn. The fire that spread in the house was caused by her lover, Apen. The fire incident was triggered by Apen's frustration at not being given money by Tjiang Lie Tjoe. For his actions, Apen was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cipondoh Police.
According to information, Apen and Tjiang Lie Tjoe live in the same house at Poris Indah Jalan Melati 2 block C, Cipondoh Indah, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City.
The fire incident occurred on Wednesday, November 17, but it was only today that the motive for the incident was revealed. The Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang Metro Police, Kompol Abdul Rachim, confirmed this.
"The house belongs to Tjiang Lie Tjoe, and the victim lives with the perpetrator," said Police Commissioner Abdul Rachim to VOI via text message, Thursday, November 18.
According to information received, Apen and Tjiang Lie Tjoe live together in the house even though they are not yet married.
"Both of them have not been married for 2 years. Previously, when the victim was at home, the perpetrator came and immediately became angry while asking the victim for money," he explained.
Abdul Rachim added that at that time the victim did not give what was asked for. This made the perpetrators unhappy and threatened the perpetrators to burn down the victim's house.
"The victim was scared and left the house. Then the perpetrator immediately flushed the wardrobe and bed along with the victim's clothes in the room using a liquid suspected of being gasoline until a moment later a fire broke out which resulted in the room and its contents being burned," he explained.
Local residents then tried to help put out the fire using makeshift tools. However, the perpetrator who was still in the house threatened the residents by brandishing two knives.
Police officers who came to the location immediately secured Apen and took him to the Cipondoh Police Headquarters for processing. While the fire can be extinguished by residents.
"Furthermore, the alleged perpetrators were brought to the Cipondoh Sector Police for further processing and the victims and witnesses were directed to the Cipondoh Police for further processing," he said.
