Perpetrators Of Obscenity Of 14 Children In Lenteng Agung Turns Out To Have Been Victims Of The Same Crime
JAKARTA – The arrest of F (29), the perpetrator of sexual abuse of 14 underage boys, revealed a number of facts behind the incident that occurred in a tenement house in the Lenteng Agung area, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
The perpetrators in their environment are known as unmarried teachers. Monday, November 15, at night, the house of the perpetrator was raided by a number of residents, one of whom was the victim's parents. At that time, the perpetrator was dragged out of the house and was attacked by residents who were angry with what he had done to the victims. The action of the perpetrator being dragged from his house was seen in an amateur video circulating on social media.
South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Azis Andriansyah explained that the suspect and the victims lived close together. They even have the same hobby, which is playing online games. Therefore, the perpetrators try to seduce their victims and lure them online game vouchers as long as they want to do what they are asked to do.
"The way the perpetrator can persuade the victim is by luring the victim to give money and top up games and give free game points," said Azis at the South Jakarta Police Headquarters, Wednesday, November 17.
Azis said the perpetrator had been carrying out the action for almost a year. It was discovered when one of the victims reported to their parents about the perpetrator's actions.
After undergoing examination until the perpetrator was determined as a suspect, it turned out that there was one victim who had been harassing him for almost a year. Azis said that one of the 14 victims experienced sexual harassment 15 times from December 2020 to November 2021.
According to Azis, the victim, who experienced sexual harassment up to 15 times, is currently experiencing a psychological disorder. When carrying out the action, the perpetrator asked the victims to watch videos of same-sex sexual scenes before they were told to do the same.
Azis revealed, based on the results of the examination, the suspect admitted that he had been a victim of a similar sexual crime.
"The perpetrator is unmarried. He is also a freelancer and opens an English course. He admits that he had the same trauma in the past (being a victim of sexual abuse)," said Azis.
Determined as a suspect, F was charged with Article 76 letter E in conjunction with Article 82 of Law 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison.
