AMBON - The king or village head and treasurer of Haruku State, Central Maluku Regency has been detained by the Ambon District Attorney (Kejari) for allegedly being involved in village funds.
Ambon District Attorney's Office Head Dian Frits Nalle said the two kings who were detained had the initials ZF and SF.
"Both of them have been detained for the next 20 days and have been deposited in the Ambon detention center," Dian said in Ambon as reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 17.
Both are suspected of being involved in corruption of village funds and the Haruku State village fund budget (DD-ADD) for the 2017 and 2018 fiscal years according to the mechanism regulated in article 21 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The value of state financial losses in this case is in accordance with the results of the inspection by the inspectorate as the Government's Internal Supervisory Apparatus, amounting to Rp. 400 million.
The detention of ZF and SF was carried out by the Ambon Kejari investigators after conducting an examination of the two as suspects from morning until noon.
The reason for the detention is to prevent the suspects from escaping, to destroy evidence, or to repeat their actions.
Dian hopes that after the arrest of the suspect, the investigator can complete the case file and immediately transfer it to the court for further legal proceedings.
