Investigating Alleged Corruption In Formula E, KPK Will Explore Financing Up To Commitment Fee Deposit
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into allegations of corruption related to the international Formula E racing event is still ongoing. In fact, summons to related parties will be made to explore the implementation process including financing.
"The parties that we suspect know are related to the implementation plan, how will it be financed, then how to deposit the money, well, that's what we will invite to explain," KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata told reporters, Wednesday, November 17.
"Whether the work is in accordance with the provisions, approved by the DPRD, for example, it will all be explored," he added.
Even so, Alexander said the alleged corruption was still under investigation and no information had been disclosed to the public. So, all parties are asked to be patient.
"In principle, in the process of this investigation, we want to know the problem," said Alexander.
Previously reported, the KPK admitted that it was investigating and had examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event.
Most recently, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate Syaefulloh Hidayat and the President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto visited the KPK Red and White Building on Tuesday, November 9.
They came to submit a 600-page document related to the plan to organize Formula E. This was intended to provide support for monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) efforts to the KPK leadership.
The document contains the approval process to the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event.
