Plt Walkot Medan Room Closed, Normal Office Activities

JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Akhyar Nasution's Acting Room (Plt) is closed. This was followed by Akhyar being confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Regional Secretary of Medan City Wiriya Al Rahman said that apart from that, the administration room and adjutant room were also closed. According to him, the closure was carried out after spraying disinfectants.

"Last night, we immediately sprayed disinfectant in all rooms at the Medan Mayor's Office," Wiriya said as quoted by Antara, Medan, Thursday, August 6.

However, he said, only the three rooms were closed. Meanwhile, activities at the Mayor's Office in Medan, North Sumatra, continued normally.

"The government system and activities are running smoothly and normally," he said.

Wiriya said that currently his party was closely tracking people who had close contact with the Acting Mayor of Medan, Akhyar Nasution.

"We are currently tracking people who have close contact with the Acting Mayor of Medan, Akhyar Nasution," he said.

Meanwhile, monitoring at the Medan Mayor's Office, all office activities are running normally. Several Satpol PP personnel also checked the body temperature of people who were about to enter the area of the Medan Mayor's Office.

Previously, the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 stated that the Acting Mayor of Medan Akhyar Nasution was positive for the corona virus or COVID-19 based on the results of the swab test.

Akhyar, who is also a candidate for Mayor of Medan in the 2020 Pilkada, is currently being treated at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital.
