Police Investigated Because Of 'IDI Kacung WHO', Jerinx: I Don't Intend To Destroy IDI

DENPASAR - Because of the post 'IDI Kacung WHO' on his Instagram account, musician I Gede Ari Astina (Jerinx) had to undergo an examination at the Bali Police. But Jerinx stressed that his post was only a criticism, not hatred at the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).

"I have no hatred, I have no intention of destroying my IDI comrades," said Jerinx when he visited the Bali Regional Police at Jalan WR Supratman, Denpasar, Thursday, August 6.

Jerinx then alluded to the news that he apologized to IDI. According to Jerinx, the apology was conveyed as a form of empathy.

"My apologies for emphatically emphasize to my friends IDI, I have no personal hatred," he continued.

The post on the Instagram account @jrxsid on June 13, according to Jerinx, was limited to criticism as a citizen. Because of this, Jerinx believes his posts are not legally problematic.

However, the post 'IDI Kacung WHO' was reported by IDI Bali to the Regional Police on June 16. IDI feels Jerinx's post has defamed a good name.

The police followed up the IDI report by examining a number of witnesses and asking for expert testimony. Until finally Jerinx was examined the day after being absent at the first summons.
